Green Certified
Buildings - LEED
It is important for
Building Service Contractors to understand green cleaning because the
inevitable time is approaching where clients will start demanding the
service. In addition, green building certifications like LEED-EB for
existing buildings now require green cleaning as a pre-requisite for
becoming LEED-EB certified.
Gaining a better
understanding of LEED-EB and the green cleaning requirements is an
excellent place to start when considering adopting green cleaning
programs for clients.
LEED stands for
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is a certification
program for facilities that want to be certified “Green”. The LEED-EB
(Existing Building) program requires green cleaning practices to be in
place prior to a facility to be eligible for LEED-EB Certification.
